We featured New England Patriots Wide Receiver Julian Edelman in this spot back in February, when he was named Superbowl LIII Game MVP. Recently, Edelman has been in the headlines for a very different reason. Thirteen years after he enrolled in Kent State University and a decade after he left school to turn professional, Edelman finally received his college degree. And this was no honorary degree: He returned to his studies to earn his diploma. Mazel tov to Julian!
Quote: “It is important to me that I make my parents proud as I fulfill a promise that I made to them that I would, one day, be a college graduate. I also want to set a great example for my daughter, so that when I talk about the importance of a college degree, I can show her that earning my degree was important to me.”
