Sigmund Freud (May 6, 1856 — Sept. 23, 1939) is considered one of the most revolutionary and influential thinkers of the last century. An Austrian neurologist, he founded psychoanalysis as a method for treating psychopathology. His work forever changed the way we view the human mind and human sexuality. Although many of his controversial ideas and methods have been rejected and discarded, Freud continues to have an impact on the world today.
