Sam Berns was a youngster who suffered from the debilitating disease called progeria, which causes people to age prematurely and rapidly, ultimately resulting in death. Despite his grim prognosis, Sam inspired millions with his grit and positive attitude toward life. Sadly, he passed away at age 17. He will not be forgotten.
