Ryan Turell , 23, is a professional basketballer who plays forward for the Motor City Cruise, an affiliate of the NBA’s Detroit Pistons in the NBA G League. He played college basketball for Yeshiva University in the Skyline Conference; he led Yeshiva to one of the longest winning streaks in NCAA Division III men’s college basketball history. Turell was selected in Round 1 of the 2022 NBA G League Draft. He wears a yarmulke while playing and says he’ll play on Shabbat, but will walk to the venues where the games (and practices) take place.
