November 11, 2017 — In a “60 Minutes” interview, U.S. Olympic Gymnast Aly Raisman — now a 23-year-old triple gold medal winner — revealed that she was sexually molested by former team physician Larry Nassar.
During the “60 Minutes” segment, Raisman asked, “Why are we looking at why the girls didn’t speak up? Why not look at what about the culture? What did USA Gymnastics do, and Larry Nassar do, to manipulate these girls so much that they are so afraid to speak up?”
Nassar — who sexually abused dozens of young female athletes — has been sentenced to 60 years in prison on child pornography charges. As of this writing, he also will be sentenced for 10 counts of criminal sexual conduct.
