A Bar Mitzvah boy from Scarsdale, N.Y., has built a website that, as of this writing, has enabled nearly 3,000 New York seniors to get appointments for COVD-19 vaccine shots. Twelve-year-old Sam Keusch created VaccineHelper.com as his Bar Mitzvah project. Sam originally thought of making a financial donation but realized the website he envisioned would be even more beneficial for the community. A real mitzvah… kol hakavod (bravo) to Sam!
Quote: “Anyone that’s eligible can get a vaccine [appointment] from me, but I prefer young people do it themselves because they can most likely do it themselves. … All they need to do is spend time refreshing that page,” he said. “I want to help them, but there’s definitely elders who need it more than them and can’t get it.”
