Neil Gaiman (61) is a British author of short fiction, novels, comic books, graphic novels, nonfiction, audio theatre, and films. His works include the popular fantasy comic book series The Sandman, published between 1989 and 1996. The series features — among others — angels, demons, wizards, superheroes, fairies, and playwrights. All of them come into the orbit of the titular character, also known as Morpheus or Dream. Gaiman’s Sandman comic books have been adapted — by the author and others — into a highly successful television series whose first season was broadcast on Netflix.

Quote: “The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can.” | “I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something.”
