Judge Judith Sheindlin hardly needs an introduction here: Her semi-eponymous reality courtroom TV show — Judge Judy — has been on the air ever since its 1996 debut. Everyone who appears on the program has agreed in writing to abide by Judge Sheindlin’s ruling. Judge Judy has been the nation’s highest-rated TV court show for years and has won three Emmy awards. Prior to becoming a television star, Sheindlin was a longtime Manhattan family court judge.
