On October 18, 2019, NASA astronaut Jessica Meir, a marine biologist and physiologist, took part in a trailblazing spacewalk outside the International Space Station. Meir and fellow astronaut Cristina Koch formed the first all-female spacewalking team. The 42-year-old Meir is serving as flight engineer on the ISS, from which she sent an out-of-this-world photograph of the Jewish State.
Quote: “Here we are up in Caribou [Maine], which is my home as well as yours, but when you think about your home, you usually think about your house, your neighborhood, and your family, and when you look at this fragile blue ball from outer space, that’s home too. It’s everybody’s home.”
