Jared Polis: Governor of Colorado with Two “Firsts” to His Credit

At the beginning of this year, Jared Polis became the 43rd governor of the State of Colorado. Prior to that, he was a Congressman from Colorado (2nd congressional district) in the U.S. House of Representatives. The 44-year-old Democrat is a wealthy businessman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He is the first Jewish governor of Colorado and the first openly gay man elected governor in the U.S.
