Isaac Asimov (January 2, 1920 — April 6, 1992) was an iconic science fiction writer who — along with authors Robert A. Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke — had a major impact on the genre. Asimov also wrote popular science, mystery, fantasy and nonfiction books. He was prolific in the extreme, reportedly writing or editing more than 500 titles. His best-known works include three series of books Foundation, Galactic Empire and Robot.
Quote: “Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today — but the core of science fiction, its essence, has become crucial to our salvation if we are to be saved at all.”
