Founded in 2016, Freedom Farm Sanctuary in Moshav Olesh (about 45 minutes north of Tel Aviv) provides shelter, sustenance, and healing to Israeli farm animals in need of help. The facility is the brainchild and passion of two Israeli businesswomen: Adit Romano and Meital Ben Ari. It has approximately a half-million followers on its English-language Facebook page.
Quote: “They are among the 200 or so cattle, goats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, geese, donkeys and ducks that are being rehabilitated and introduced to the public through guided tours (currently on Zoom) as part of an educational initiative to raise awareness about the environmental, health and moral downsides of the livestock industry.”
