When Eddie Jaku was a teenager growing up in Germany, he believed his native country to be the most civilized place on Earth. He soon found out how wrong he was. After being captured and brutalized by the Nazis, he was shipped off to Buchenwald and later to Auschwitz. Jaku eventually escaped an infamous “death march” and hid in the woods for many months. In the beautiful Ted Talk linked below, he imparts the life wisdom he has gained over his 99 years.
