The studio DreamWorks Animation produces animated films and television programs. The company was founded in 1994 (as Dreamworks SKG) by three Jewish heavy-hitters in the entertainment industry (pictured left to right): David Geffen, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and Stephen Spielberg. In 2016, Dreamworks became a subsidiary of Universal Pictures, a division of NBCUniversal, which is itself a division of Comcast. The studio has released 42 feature films as of April 2022, including several of the highest-grossing animated films of all time, with Shrek 2 (2004) having been the highest at the time of its release.
