Physician Gary Slutkin is an American epidemiologist who has battled outbreaks of tuberculosis, cholera, AIDS, and other deadly diseases in Africa, Latin America and Asia. He is also the founder of Cure Violence, on the world’s top-rated NGOs. In the two videos linked below, Dr. Slutkin applies what he’s learned from disease epidemics to reducing urban violence and fighting antisemitism.
Quote: “As a member of the Jewish community myself, I have seen group-on-group violence, in particular antisemitism, as ripe for the public health epidemic control approach. And given the momentum and spread of this epidemic, we must act urgently, using all the tools at our disposal.”
