Deborah Estrin, a Professor of Computer Science at Cornell Tech, has been called “one of the most-referenced computer scientists of all times.” The 59-year-old Estrin’s pioneering research focuses on sensor networks, mobile health, and small data (a term she coined). In 2003, she was included in the “Brilliant 10” by Popular Science magazine. In 2018, she was named a Fellow by the prestigious MacArthur Foundation.

I am interested in developing new ways to put these data and technologies to use in a way that is more privacy-aware from the perspective of the user and context than is typical in our social media-dominated online lives.”
