David Axelrod is a highly regarded American political operative who was the chief strategist for Barack Obama’s two successful presidential campaigns. Moreover, he served as senior advisor in President Obama’s administration. Prior to his career in politics — starting at the age of 27 — he was the bureau chief and a political columnist for the Chicago Tribune. Currently, Axelrod is director of the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago; he also appears frequently on CNN as a commentator and has his own CNN podcast, The Axe File.
