Bryan Schwartz is an Oakland, California–based attorney who specializes in civil rights and employment law. Now he has a new mission: raising funds to keep India’s small Bnei Menashe Jewish community from starving due to the economic impact of COVID-19. His commitment was sparked by a trip he made to India two decades ago.

I guess that shows where hospitality can lead. They were incredibly good to me. They received me like I was a long-lost cousin. And so all I’m doing is trying to return the favor.”
