March 5, 2016 — An African-American rapper — formerly known as D. Black, who now goes by the name Nissim — has permanently moved to Israel, together with his family. Nissim completed an Orthodox conversion to Judaism three years before making aliya; he is quoted characterizing the move as “the last piece missing to complete the puzzle of my life — the land of Israel… God, Israel and the Jewish people are one comprehensive unit, so when you have one piece without the others, it’s an incomplete puzzle.” Nissim plans to continue making music in Israel and to perform throughout the world.
