Singer/songwriter Adam Lambert, 40, got his big break in show business by appearing on America’s Got Talent in 2009. (He was a runner-up on that season of the show.) Since then, he’s become a popular, highly successful performer and recording artist, having sold more than three million albums and five million singles worldwide. Alongside his solo career, Lambert has collaborated with rock band Queen as lead vocalist for Queen + Adam Lambert since 2011. Lambert is openly gay.
Quote: “I’m proud of my sexuality. I embrace it. It’s just another part of me.” | “Pop is a little bit theatrical. That’s the whole vibe. That’s the point — is that it’s great music, great melodies, great hooks. But, on top of it, it’s a presentation. There’s a showmanship about it. And that’s why I wanted to be a pop star.”
